Lilac bedroom

Reflecting on the design of their home, Russians rarely opt for lavender. However, this color, when correctly used in the design, creates a truly original and magical atmosphere in the room.

How to make a bedroom in lilac colors

The bedroom is a place where you want to feel as relaxed as possible. In the formation of a sense of comfort, the color scheme of the room plays an important role. Lilac bedroom may seem a bold decision, but the variety of shades of this color leaves the owner with a wide choice.

Lilac does not have to be bright - just the opposite, in the bedroom it is more appropriate to use only light or muted tones. A bright room in lilac tones will create a feeling of lightness and freshness. At the same time, the muffled lilac forms a sense of reliability and tranquility.

In the 21st century, plastic is often used in the decoration of apartments. The variety of its colors, the relatively low price and long life of the products are inclined to this. One way to decorate a room is to order a multi-level PVC ceiling with lilac level or inserts.

It is advisable not to make lilac all the space above your head in apartments and houses with low ceilings. However, the modern world offers a lot of opportunities to smooth out the effect of a lack of space, while at the same time designing housing in the right color. For example, make the ceiling multi-level, or lower the floor.

Lilac decorative plaster will look very impressive. The plaster does not have to be smooth. It can also form a relief pleasant to the eye, or decorate a room, complementing the interior with an artistic composition. If you add patterns with oriental or natural motifs to the walls of the bedroom, you can create the impression of a fairy tale settled in the room.

In the assortment of good finishing stores you can find plenty of stylish lilac wallpapers. High-quality lilac wallpapers of muted shades will be associated with luxury. A completely different sensation will form light lilac. This color will bring a little youth and carelessness to the room.

It is not necessary to cover all the walls with the same wallpaper. You can profitably zoning the room, adding interesting accents. Even one wall can be divided into several parts, accurately setting the borders of colors.

If the assortment of the nearest stores does not have the necessary shades of wall coverings, you can take wallpaper for painting. The desired colors are selected from the catalog of tinted tints. The consultant will advise in what proportion of colors should be mixed with white in order to achieve the desired result. To make the walls look more interesting, you can choose a wallpaper with a textured surface, and after painting, cover them with glossy glaze paint.

For independent work on the walls, it is better to use a roller. In delicate places - take a small brush. If you intend to zoning the space in the room by painting the walls in different colors, you will need masking tape. Adhesive tape will evenly limit the area to be painted. After completion of work, on the one hand, it is glued on the other side of the color border, and the procedure is repeated using the following paint.

A color scheme

Light shades visually expand the space, and dark shades. The smaller the room, the more light colors should be in it. Otherwise, a suffocating atmosphere may reign in the room, and you will have to forget about a relaxing holiday.

This color fills the space, even if used in the most faded and muted shades. In order not to visually overload the situation in the room, it is better to make white the main color. It goes well with any colors, does not exert pressure and provides wide freedom for experiments.

Three primary colors - one room is more than enough. It is interesting to combine colors such as:

  • White and beige - a beautiful and unobtrusive, "natural" combination.
  • White and pistachio. Green goes great with lilac. However, filling the room with bright shades of green is not worth it. It is better to opt for light and light versions of green.
  • White and silver gray. This combination will look great in a room designed for sleeping. Silver and gray shades make a pleasant and soothing impression. In addition, they can look stylish and not catch the eye at the same time.
  • White and light pink. Saturated pink color will absorb all the unique properties of lilac. Nevertheless, you can use pink dotted, or choose it in lighter colors.
  • White and pearlescent. The last color will bring the smells of the sea and a feeling of lightness into the room.
  • White and blue. It must be light blue, devoid of flashiness and toxicity. Otherwise, the colors will come into conflict and the effect they produce will only be annoying.
  • Brown and navy blue. A calm combination that will envelop the owner of the room. It forms a feeling of depth, peace and security.

Bright colors are best not included in the design as primary. Accents are placed neatly, especially in small rooms. Red or black in combination with lilac look very unusual and expressive, but their influence should also be smoothed out as much as possible by adding a large amount of white color.

Attention! It is very difficult to combine cold and warm shades. After finishing work, there is a great risk of feeling at ease. Such combinations give rise to dissonance and rejection, a desire to leave the room.

Furniture selection

It is better to put white furniture in the lilac bedroom, unless its colors are not the main ones. Even elegant furniture made of thin materials will visually take up a lot of space and attract attention. Furniture in the same way forms the perception of space, as well as the decoration of the room.

Finishing a bedroom in a vintage style involves the use of lilac as the color of textile elements. Lush pouffes and curtains, bedspreads and upholstered furniture - can be lilac. But the cabinets, tables and floor - no.

Vintage involves following the canons that originated in previous generations. Coloring furniture in bright colors was rarely done before, mainly due to the lack of the necessary colors. Before ordering lilac furniture, think about what effect you want to achieve. An incorrectly selected piece of furniture can destroy the whole style set during the finishing work.

Accessories and optional items

After the choice of primary colors is over, we must not forget about the emphasis. It is accessories and additional elements that complete the big picture and create a feeling of home. Items such as bedspreads, carpets and curtains are best chosen in primary colors. To advantageously shade the room, it is enough to slightly change their shade.

Smaller items can be of any color. However, it is desirable to maintain a general tone in the room. Each bright accent will be striking, so limit their number.

Attention! In the lilac bedroom you can place green plants. Pure green natural edema goes well with lilac. Curly and large mirrors enhance the impression of freshness coming from the lilac color.

Lilac is the result of a mixture of purple and pink, it can be used favorably and this can be seen in the photo. Do not be afraid to use a lot of small and bright elements made in akin to lilac shades. If they look disharmonious, you can always just put them in a closet.
