Do-it-yourself drawings and schemes of a sofa-eurobook

Folding furniture is popular with both owners of small apartments and owners of luxury apartments. Sofa eurobook has many advantages compared to other models: the berth has virtually no differences, the design is reliable and practical.

How to make a sofa eurobook do-it-yourself

The main feature of the sofa-book is the immobility when assembling and disassembling the sofa, this is realized by extending the upper part and lowering the back in the empty space that has appeared.

To ensure the movement of the seat, it can be equipped with special fittings, but when assembling at home in the side load-bearing bars, they simply make indentations and fix the legs directly to the seat. The back is assembled due to non-folding hinges.

In the design of the sofa there is a box-base with a box for bedding, it can be equipped with two armrests or one, this allows you to use the product as a corner sofa.

Attention! Furniture does not take up much space because it does not require installation at a certain distance from the wall to ensure assembly / disassembly. When the sofa is laid out, a rather large berth is obtained.

Materials and Tools

The following materials are used to assemble the frame:

  • plywood sheets;
  • Chipboard;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • timber 50x50 and 25x50 mm;
  • nails
  • metal corner pads;
  • rollers and guides;
  • legs from a steel corner;
  • batting or foam rubber.

Tools for assembling the frame:

  • electric drill;
  • sandpaper;
  • jigsaw;
  • hammer;
  • miter box;
  • screwdriver;
  • furniture stapler;
  • stain;
  • marker;
  • roulette.

How to take measurements

Correctly calculating the size of the eurobook is much easier, unlike corner sofas, since you do not need to take into account additional elements. The sofa has one line that divides it into equal parts. Since the berth is located along, this line is almost not felt.

It is necessary to take into account the size of the bed both in the folded state and in the unfolded one, since in the latter case the sofa will increase by 2 times. As a rule, a standard width of 140-150 cm and a length in the unfolded state of 180-210 cm are selected.

Drawings and schemes of a sofa of a eurobook

To start directly assembling the bed, a detailed drawing is required, it is prepared taking into account personal preferences, you can use ready-made schemes.

The most important thing is that the dimensions of the finished sofa with the overall dimensions, as well as with the dimensions of each individual element, are indicated in the drawing. In addition, it is necessary to note the location of the hinges, so that when assembling the structure, to install reinforcing bars in the right place for more secure fastening, the exact location of all elements and the dimensions of the height of the product, taking into account the legs, are also required.

Important! In standard models there are 4 legs on the base and 2 on the folding part.

Sofa eurobook yourself: step by step instructions

To correctly assemble the sofa eurobook, you must adhere to the following instructions:

  1. Base. You need to start assembling the eurobook from the bottom. To do this, you need bars with a section of 15x5. Most often, the frame size is chosen 80x200 cm. The bars are connected to each other on self-tapping screws. In the corners, for better reliability, boards are additionally attached.
  2. As the bottom of the frame, a chipboard sheet is usually used. To fix it, at the base it is necessary to gash the rails, and fix the chipboard on top of them.
  3. Armchair and back. These elements are also made of beams with a cross section of 15x5 cm. The manufacturing method is exactly the same as the bed frame, dimensions are 80x200 cm. For these parts, the chipboard sheets must be fixed on both sides.
  4. Bars of 7x7 cm are sawn into the assembled base, which are arranged in increments of 9-12 cm. After this, the chipboard sheets are fixed and the legs are attached.
  5. When the structure is assembled and the backrest is vertical, its soft part faces outward. Therefore, you need to additionally use polyurethane foam pillows wrapped in some kind of material, so you can give great softness.
  6. Side parts. A wooden box is used for these elements or it is made of fiberboard.
  7. Folding mechanism. In order for the bed to fold and unfold, use hinges, they are fixed to the back and directly to the bed. In order to make the hinge fixing section on the headboard more durable, instead of the boards, you can choose a 15x5 cm board, deployed with an edge.
  8. When all the elements of the bed are prepared and assembled, polyurethane foam is fixed (using a special adhesive), then batting or synthetic winterizer is laid. The finished eurobook is upholstered with a cloth using a furniture stapler.

Recommendations of specialists:

  1. The boards between the two plywood sheets can be put on glue and fixed on both sides with a construction stapler.
  2. Instead of chipboard, often choose whole plywood sheets with a thickness of 5 mm. Moreover, the thickness of the bars is reduced to 25 mm.
  3. The sofa cover is made with a zipper, or the material is fixed with a stapler down to the boards. The upholstery of the bed does not take much time.
  4. For the soft part of the bed, it is advisable to choose a synthetic winterizer with a density of more than 25 kg / m2. Foam rubber 12 cm thick is fixed on one part of the back, and 3 cm on the second part.

Eurobook can successfully replace the bed. This design will provide the owner with a spacious and comfortable place for a comfortable stay and good sleep. Due to its small size, the eurobook can be placed in a small bedroom.
