What is hydrolysis cleaning in the oven

The life of a modern housewife is hard to imagine without household appliances. But caring for her can be a lot of trouble. Using the oven with ease, in a short time you can prepare a delicious dinner, however, washing off drops of burnt fat is not so simple.

Fortunately, manufacturers of kitchen appliances try to simplify this process as much as possible and periodically come up with new functions for oven self-cleaning. One of these methods is hydrolysis treatment.

REFERENCE: Hydrolysis - This is a chemical reaction of the interaction of a substance with water, in which the decomposition of this substance occurs.

That is, hydrolysis cleaning refers to the process of cleaning the internal surfaces of the oven from fat and other substances using water vapor, which is formed at a temperature of about 50-90 °. This is one of the very first oven cleaning methods that our grandmothers used.

How to hydrolyze an oven

The hydrolysis cleaning process is simple:

  • Pour some water (approximately 0.5 l) into a deep pan and add cleaning agent to it. Place the baking sheet in the lower part of the oven. Models with a built-in hydrolysis cleaning function already have functional water inlets in the bottom of the oven;
  • The temperature is set at 50-90 ° C, if there is a built-in function - the temperature is set automatically;
  • Leave it in working condition for 30 minutes;
  • Turn off the oven, let cool;
  • With a sponge or a rag we remove the remains of contaminants, you may need to additionally use cleaning products;
  • If necessary, repeat the procedure.

Automatic oven cleaning functions

Some modern oven models are already equipped with a hydrolysis cleaning function. In these ovens, the temperature is automatically set, depending on the material of the internal surfaces.

Manufacturers distinguish several hydrolysis functions. Let's analyze them in more detail:

Clearning hydrolysis system. In such a system, the heating temperature of the oven does not exceed 90 ° C; preliminary, the internal contaminated surfaces are treated with a special spray. Cleaning time 15 minutes.

Clearning is found in models such as Maunfeld EOEM 589S1, AskoOCS8456S and others.

Aqua hydrolysis system clean. It has received wider application, due to affordability. The oven is heated to a temperature of 50 ° C. Previously, 500 ml of water is poured into the functional depression in the lower part. Cleaning time 30 minutes.

Aqua clean is available from manufacturers such as: Gorenje - in models BO635E11W, BO 73 CLI, BO 53 CLI, BO 75 SY2W; HOTPOINT / ARISTON - Model FA2 841 JH BL HA.

Aqua clean is pretty common. Today it can be found with other manufacturers in other models. The price of ovens with the Aqua clean function from retail stores of household appliances starts from 25 thousand rubles.

ATTENTION! With both methods, after hydrolysis cleaning, it is necessary to remove residual grease and soot from the inside of the oven with a sponge or soft cloth.

Advantages and disadvantages of hydrolysis treatment

The main advantages of hydrolysis treatment:

  • Price. The cost of an oven with this function is significantly lower compared to other cleaning systems, such as pyrolytic or catalytic. The energy level with such a system is also relatively small;
  • Ease of use. This easy cleaning method will be mastered by any housewife without any problems;
  • Lack of aggressive detergents. When hydrolysis does not use "hard" chemistry, which means there is no harm to health.

Disadvantages:

  • The hydrolysis system cannot be called a self-cleaning system. In any case, it is necessary to additionally wash and wipe the inside of the oven.
  • Also, the hydrolysis cleaning system will not help get rid of dried fat on the cabinet door, it will also have to be washed independently;
  • In case of severe contamination, it will be necessary to repeatedly carry out a cleaning procedure or wash the oven mechanically.
